Job Summary:
The Executive Director will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Business Improvement Association, including strategic planning, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and program development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business management, community development, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, government officials, landlords/property owners and community organizations.
2. Manage the organization’s budget and financial resources effectively.
3. Support the development and implementation of strategic plans to promote the economic growth and vitality of the business community.
4. Oversee the planning and execution of programs and initiatives to support business development and improvement.
5. Represent the organization at public events, meetings, committees (such as croquet, May Days, etc.), and conferences.
6. Provide leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers to ensure the successful implementation of organizational goals.
7. Monitor and evaluate the impact of the organization’s activities and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
– Education/background in business administration, public administration, economic development or a related field and/or experience.
– Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a business association or non-profit organization.
– Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
– Knowledge of local economic development issues and trends.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. – Tri-Cities resident an asset
About the role:
28 hours/week
Vacation 2 weeks/year
Remote and flexible work w/regular visits to DT PoCo Evenings and weekends as needed.
Must have a car.
Must be able to lift 25lbs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
