For our next PoCo Eats review, we sent our director, Sam Nosworthy, to Me-N-Ed’s Pizza Parlor on McAllister to revisit an old favourite. This is what she had to say:
When I first started working in PoCo I was so happy to be so close to a Me-N-Ed’s Pizza restaurant! They have been around since 1969, and have always delivered with authentic pizza, sandwiches and much, much more.
We went to the PoCo Me-N-Ed’s during lunch time on a Monday. They had a bunch of sports on the TVs so you never miss a game. Our waitress greeted my mom and I right away and showed us to our seats. She was super friendly and brought my little son a colouring page and crayons.
My mom ordered the bocca panini with the signature Ed’s salad. I ordered an 8” pepperoni and mushroom pizza with a caesar salad. The bocca panini has bocconcini cheese, juicy roma tomatoes, capicola, fresh basil and mayo on a lightly toasted panini. The Ed’s salad is a blend of house greens, red peppers, cranberries, dates, pecans and feta tossed with a green onion miso dressing. Both were an outstanding pair! The pepperoni mushroom pizza was loaded with toppings and cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and tasty. All in all, it was a perfect lunch spot.
