This week we are featuring Riverside Counselling as part of our Mental Health Matters initiative.
Riverside Counselling offers a safe and supportive environment for self-exploration and growth that welcomes all people regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or religion. They are located in downtown Port Coquitlam at 107-2331 Marpole Avenue.
Their areas of practice are expansive and include treatment for depression, anxiety, stress management, interpersonal relationships, couples counselling, identity, trauma, grief and loss, attachment, parenting, substance use, and postpartum depression. They are currently offering online video counselling and telephone counselling services.
Carrie Bove is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. She attended Simon Fraser University and holds an MA in Counselling Psychology and a BA with Distinction in Psychology. She is a compassionate, client-focused, culturally competent counsellor who is experienced and dedicated to providing exceptional and creative care to children, youth, and adults.
Shelby O’Callaghan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. She attended University of Lethbridge and Simon Fraser University and holds a Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology. She has over 12 years of experience working with individuals from age 5 to adulthood, in a variety of settings. She is dedicated to creating a respectful, accepting and authentic experience for all her clients, and utilizes a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to achieve this.
Both Shelby and Carrie are trained in various therapeutic modalities (including CBT, DBT, IPT, and SFBT). Shelby is a certified EMDR therapist. They both have extensive training in working with trauma.
