Their Story
Connected Natural Medicine is a wellness clinic in downtown Port Coquitlam that promotes natural and healthy living. Their founder, Dr. Deanna Weiss, Naturopathic Physician, wanted to create a peaceful, healing space for patients to receive quality care from a variety of health care professionals. When you walk through the doors we hope you get the feeling that you are a priority and your well-being is our primary focus.
Connected Natural Medicine opened on September 13th, 2019 as a Naturopathic office and has since expanded to offer services with Alex Hui, Registered Acupuncturist, and Erin MacLeod, Registered Clinical Counsellor. Each practitioner has followed their own journey through health and wellness and brings a unique perspective to their individual practice. They hope to continue to add to their team to better serve our community.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine is a style of primary care offered at Connected Natural Medicine that investigates the underlying cause of illness, prevents disease and assists the body
in optimal health. Our Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Deanna Weiss, has always been interested in what makes the body healthy. Going through her own health journey
motivated her to pursue Naturopathic Medicine. Her passion is helping people struggling with a variety of health concerns including, hormone balancing, allergies or
intolerances and mental health. She addresses these concerns through a lens of biomedicine, nutrition, herbal medicine, and natural therapies that support the nervous
system (i.e. acupuncture or craniosacral therapy). Dr. Weiss’ ultimate goal is to help guide patients into feeling like the best version of themselves.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine offered at Connected Natural Medicine by both our Naturopath and Acupuncturist. It is a relaxing technique to calm
the nervous system, reduce stress, and help the body return to homeostasis. This practice is used to alleviate pain and treat a variety of physical, mental and emotional
conditions. Our Registered Acupuncturist, Alex Hui found his passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine during his time at university and fell in love with this practice. To
Alex, Chinese Medicine is not just a job. It is a way to help people, it is a way of life, it is Tao.
Counselling
Clinical Counselling at Connected Natural Medicine is a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental environment to embrace your story and move forward with purpose. Erin MacLeod is our Registered Clinical Counselling who offers service to teens and adults in person, or by phone and video. Through her own journey she has learned that anxiety, panic, depression, stress, grief are feelings don’t need to define you.
